Lottery Funds Scholarships

Purpose

These scholarship dollars are provided by the Oklahoma Education Lottery Trust Fund. The primary purpose of the scholarship is to help CareerTech educators obtain their teaching credentials. Scholarships may be extended to applicants in categories 3-5 listed in the eligibility sections if funds are remaining.  Successful applicants will receive up to $250 per credit hour toward tuition and related fees only. Funding is limited to a maximum of nine credit hours per applicant.

Note that this scholarship is intended to be a reimbursement – you will need to be prepared to pay your bill when it is due, to avoid late fees or having your account locked.

 

Applications for the Fall 2025 semester are closed. Recipients will be notified in mid-November.

Applications for the Spring 2026 semester will open in mid-to-late January.

 


Eligibility

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Oklahoma resident
  • Minimum current GPA 2.5 (or a new student who does not yet have a GPA)
  • Currently enrolled in courses at a university or college located in Oklahoma and accredited by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education

Applicants must fit into one of the following teaching certification/credential categories. Awards are based on available funds and prioritized by the five credential categories listed below. 

1a. Full-time, provisionally certified CareerTech teacher of an approved CareerTech program working toward a degree to meet their provisional certification requirements.

1b. Full-time, alternatively certified CareerTech teacher of an approved CareerTech program taking the required 6-18 college credit hours.  

1c. Full-time, certified CareerTech instructor of an approved CareerTech program working toward a degree required by a third-party accrediting body (for example, Health instructor completing degree to satisfy COARC certification requirements).

2. CareerTech system (Technology Center, Skills Center or agency) employee working toward a degree to become a full-time CareerTech Teacher.

Scholarships may be extended to applicants in categories 3-5 if funds are remaining:

3. CareerTech system educator seeking a degree/certification in School Counseling.

4. Full-time CareerTech system educator seeking Technology Center Administrator Credential via secondary principal or superintendent certification.

5. CareerTech system employee working toward a degree for advancement in the CareerTech system.


Instructions

To complete this application, you will need the following information:

  • Your teacher number (ONLY if you have a teaching certificate)
  • Student ID number for each college or university attended
  • Class number(s)
  • Class title(s)
  • Number of hours per class

These scholarships are available for those enrolled in the current semester. Funds will be disbursed directly to your school's bursar account. Note that this scholarship is intended to be a reimbursement – you will need to be prepared to pay your bill when it is due, to avoid late fees or having your account locked.
