Accreditation

The Oklahoma State Board of Career and Technology Education is recognized by the United States Department of Education as the “authority for the approval of public postsecondary vocational education offered at institutions in the State of Oklahoma that are not under the jurisdiction of the Oklahoma State Regents of Higher Education, including the approval of public postsecondary vocational education offered via distance education." This recognition establishes the State Board as the accrediting body for the technology centers in Oklahoma. It further requires the State Board to establish policies and standards pertaining to the accreditation process. The policies set forth by the State Board are published in Rules for Career and Technology Education, which is available through the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education.
