APA WF 22-11 Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) Visit and Sick Visit on the Same Day

These rule changes were previously approved by the OHCA Board of Directors and are pending approval from the Governor as emergency rules. Due to Oklahoma Statutes, these rules must be taken through the permanent rulemaking process.

The proposed rule changes will update policy to allow payment for both an Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) visit and a sick visit on the same date of service when it is deemed medically appropriate.

Thank you, OHCA, for this rule change.  Paying pediatricians for the medically appropriate work we do is the right thing to do.  I applaud the OKAAP and the OHCA for collaborating to get this issue corrected and facilitating getting children taken care of in a timely manner.
