You can renew your license up to a year in advance. Your renewed license will become active the day following your original expiration date (so there is no downside to renewing early). We recommend renewing your license at least 60 days before the expiration date.
Please allow at least 10 days for delivery, as mailing times may vary.
NOTE: If you have recently moved locations or have changed your inbound mailing address to a PO Box, please contact your local United States Postal Service to update your postal address.

Yes, there is a temporary license issued when applying for a Driver License Replacement or Renewal online. It is recommended that you print out the email you received when your application was approved and carry that along with your expired ID (if applicable).
You cannot use a PO box as the address for your residence which appears on the Driver License/ID. However, a Driver License/ID can be mailed to a PO box if that is not the primary residential address entered on the application for the Driver License/ID.
Note: The only exception to this regulation is if you are an Address Confidentiality Program participant.
Yes, if your online renewal or replacement has been denied or cancelled, you will receive a refund for the credential fee, less the credit card processing fee. Please note, a credit card refund may take up to 10 business days to reflect on your statement depending on your banking institution.
