A public hearing was held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the M.C. Connors Building, 2501 N. Lincoln Blvd., First Floor Boardroom, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Board of Nursing considered the proposed rules at is Board meeting on January 28, 2026, along with information received during the comment period and hearing, then voted to adopt the proposed rule language as presented. The rule report was submitted to the governor and legislature on January 29, 2026, pursuant to the next step in the rulemaking process. If approved, the revised rules would become effective 10 days following publication in The Oklahoma Register. More information will be forthcoming.

The Oklahoma Board of Nursing adopted emergency revisions to its rules at the September 30-October 2, 2025, Board meeting in order to timely align the rule language with state statute pursuant to the passage of HB 2298, effective November 1, 2025. The governor approved the emergency rules with an effective date of November 1, 2025, and they will expire September 14, 2026, unless superseded by another rule or disapproved by the legislature.
