NOTICE OF SCAM

The Board has received reports of a scam targeting Oklahoma nurses. The scam involves the offender impersonating agency staff in “Official Notice” letters which purport to warn the recipient that his or her license has been suspended. The scammers use our logo, address, and contact information, as well as the logo and contact information of the U.S. Department of Justice.

If you receive a “notice of suspension” or correspondence purporting to be from this agency you did not expect, please contact us to verify the legitimacy of the communication. Board staff are aware of the issue and will understand your request.

New APRN Certification Examination for Initial Licensure

Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification examination by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB)

The Board's Advanced Practice Advisory Committee (APAC) reviewed a new APRN certification examination and recommended its approval to the OK Board of Nursing. The full Board voted to approve the APAC recommendation at it's September/October 2025 Board meeting and added a new examination to the list of approved APRN certification examinations for initial licensure. The new examination is: Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification examination by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB).
