Special Education Child Count
!! IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to the unique circumstances from last year's child count collection (the transition to the SIF Unity API), we've found that it's near impossible for us to accurately determine the timeliness of the child count certification dates for every district for FY2024. To ensure that no district is negatively impacted by factors beyond its control, we have made the decision to remove the Child Count timeliness measure from the FY2024 District Data Profile (DDP). The final version of the DDP will not include the Child Count timeliness measure for this reporting year.
Child Count: A count of students who are enrolled in the LEAs and on an IEP as of October 1 of the fiscal year. In addition to federal reporting, this count is used in allocating State Aid for Special Education.
