Oklahoma Science of Reading Academies: Cohort 5
As a LETRS Cohort 5 Participant, we are writing to acknowledge the time and effort you have already invested in this work, and to also share an important update regarding LETRS training.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, the contract supporting this training has been terminated. Because of the termination of the contract, all remaining live LETRS training sessions are canceled for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, there is not sufficient time within the current fiscal year to finalize a new contract and complete the remaining training requirements.
We recognize this news is disappointing—particularly for those who have completed a portion of the live training sessions and were working toward full program completion.
What this means for you as a LETRS Cohort 5 Participant:
You will continue to have full access to the LETRS online modules through December 31, 2026.
The LETRS micro-credential requires completion of both the online coursework and all live training sessions. Participants who are not be able to meet the live-training requirement will not be eligible for the micro-credential.
As a show of good faith, the state will provide the full $600 stipend to participants who complete all eight online modules, even though the full program cannot be completed as originally designed. Additional details regarding the stipend application process and timeline will be shared soon.
We understand the frustration this situation may cause and appreciate your flexibility as we navigate circumstances beyond our control. We are grateful for your professionalism and dedication to strengthening literacy instruction for Oklahoma students. You will continue to receive updates as we navigate this unexpected issue.
Attendance Certificates for Live Training Sessions
All attendance certificates for training sessions occurring after July 31st, 2024 will now be found on the LETRS platform. You can locate attendance certificates by following these steps:
- In the upper-right-hand corner, click on your name.
- Click “view profile”
- On the left-hand side, click on “attendance”
It is important to note that the email address used in the LETRS platform must be the same email used in every facilitated session for you to receive your certificate of attendance. The email you provide after each of your facilitated training sessions must match the email that is listed on your LETRS account.
