Eligible staff members of Oklahoma public and tribal libraries are invited to apply for a grant to attend the 2026 Oklahoma Library Association Annual Conference in Tulsa, March 11-13.

 Successful applicants will need to register and pay all expenses up front. ODL will reimburse conference registration, travel, lodging, and per diem. Contact hours will be awarded following conference attendance.

This LSTA Grant, offered through the Institute of Museum and Library Services, is for the purpose of educating library professionals and improving library service in the state. 

FOLIO is offering grants to support early childhood literacy by helping Friends of Libraries groups provide books to preschoolers—especially children living in poverty. Research shows the lifelong impact of early reading: 58% of children ages 3–5 are not fully prepared to learn, many low-income households lack books, and early brain development is rapid, with 90% complete by age five. Homes filled with books directly support future academic success, reading enjoyment, and long-term opportunity.

Friends groups may apply for up to $500 to purchase books for preschoolers or request a grant of 50–100 free used picture books for take-and-share shelves or Little Free Libraries® in community locations. Applicants are encouraged to describe how the funds or books will be used—such as planned activities, outreach to children in poverty, past related efforts, promotional strategies for the library, and whether matching funds will be used. Applications are due December 31, 2025, with awards announced in February and recognized at FOLIO’s Annual Meeting in the spring.

Round four is open! Libraries Transforming Communities: Accessible Small and Rural Communities will offer more than $14 million in grants to small and rural libraries to increase the accessibility of facilities, services, and programs to better serve people with disabilities.

Participating libraries will first conduct community input-gathering sessions to assure that their work aligns with local needs. Libraries will be required to identify the primary audience they are hoping to reach (e.g., homebound seniors, children with autism, Deaf community members) and facilitate a community conversation with the impacted populations in order to guide the improvement of the library’s services. Grantees would then use the funds to create services or improve their facilities based on the needs identified by their audience.

Eligibility & Grant Details: Libraries must serve a population of 25,000 or less and be located at least five miles from an urbanized area. Individual grants range from $10,000 to $20,000, distributed across four rounds over four years.

United for Libraries and Penguin Random House will award grants of $500 and $1,000 (totaling $25,000) to support libraries in need. Specifically, grant funds will assist Friends of Library groups with priority projects. Additionally, in-kind book donation grants of $500 will be awarded to 20 libraries to purchase Penguin Random House titles.

To be eligible for a cash or in-kind grant, Friends groups must be in support of a rural/small U.S. library in the 50 states, District of Columbia, or U.S. territories (Guam, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands) with a legal service area population of 25,000 or less, and in any area 5+ miles outside of a U.S. Census defined urban area (as defined by the Institute of Museum and Library Services IMLS). A library that meets the same eligibility and is able to demonstrate it has started the process of forming a Friends group will also be eligible.

Oklahoma Arts Council grants ensure individuals statewide have access to the arts. Much of the agency's budget is invested directly into Oklahoma communities in the form of grants, and more than 40 percent of the agency's grant funding supports arts and arts education programming in rural areas.

The Priddy Foundation is dedicated to the support of programs in human services, education, the arts, and health, which offer significant potential for individual development and community improvement.

The Dollar General Literacy Foundation grant programs are available to qualifying nonprofit organizations, schools, and libraries within a 15-mile radius of a Dollar General store. They award grant funding to organizations that provide direct services to individuals of all ages, including Adult Education Instruction, GED or high school equivalency preparation, English Language Acquisition, children’s summer reading programs, and youth literacy initiatives.

The Pilcrow Foundation mission is to provide new, quality, hardcover children’s books to rural public libraries across the United States. The new books provided through the Children’s Book Project become part of the library’s permanent children’s book collection, thus ensuring children’s access to quality books for years to come.

 The Lisa Libraries donates new children's books and small libraries to organizations that work with kids in poor and under-served areas.

The C.W. Titus Foundation primarily awards grants for health, children’s services, and social services. It also provides support for arts and cultural programs.

The BlogSpot was put together by authors of the book, Winning Grants: A How-To-Do-It Manual for Librarians,  Stephanie Gerding and Pam MacKellar. The site lists new and updated library grant opportunities.

National Network of Libraries of Medicine offers funding for projects that improve access to health information, increase engagement with research and data, expand professional knowledge, and support outreach that promotes awareness and use of NLM resources in local communities.

Rural Community Development Initiative Grants are awarded to help non-profit housing and community development organizations, low-income rural communities and federally recognized tribes support housing, community facilities and community and economic development projects in rural areas.

Grand River Dam Authority supports and assists activities, organizations, and causes which advance both governmental public purposes, as well as corporate purpose of GRDA by promoting community and economic development, tourism and recreational activities.

Grants.gov is the federal government’s official, centralized portal for finding and applying for federal grant opportunities. Managed under the President’s e‑Government initiatives and maintained by the Department of Health and Human Services, its mission is to simplify access to over 1,000 competitive discretionary grant programs offered across 26 federal agencies.
