State Hazard Mitigation Team

About the Team

The State Hazard Mitigation Team is a consortium of Oklahoma government agencies formed to plan and prioritize state mitigation activities. Mitigation is the act of reducing or eliminating the effects of a hazard. Hazards can be tornadoes, floods, terrorism, civil disorder, and many more. The team meets about four times a year to update the current plan for Oklahoma. Additionally, agencies are able to coordinate their activities with other team members.
