Tribal Foster Care
The DHS Tribal Program seeks to ensure compliance with the federal and state Indian Child Welfare Acts through keeping Tribal children in foster care connected with family, tribe, and community. To achieve this, DHS and Tribes maintain agreements to enhance coordination and cooperation between the tribes and DHS in providing appropriate foster care and related services to Indian children in both DHS and tribal custody
