Service Information

Habilitation Training Specialist (HTS) is a direct caregiving service designed to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities in a Family Home, the individual's own home, or in combination with residential supports.  In this service model, the caregiver is employed and supervised by a provider agency. The HTS supports the needs of the individual to ensure health, safety, and community integration. The HTS is engaged with the individual in development or maintenance of skills to include activities of daily living, health, safety, and community integration. 

Individual must rise to the level described in policy OAC 317:40-5-150

  • Individuals 18 years or older
  • Requires an average of at least 8 hours of direct support services daily
  • Needs cannot be met in the family home
  • Approved for DLS through a review process
