OKDHS:2-1-49. Employee time to vote

(a)  Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS) grants employees two hours of time in which to vote in all elections in which he or she is qualified to vote,per Section 7-101 of Title 26 of the Oklahoma Statutes (26 O.S. § 7-101) provided:

(1) Employees notify their supervisor of the need for time off to vote, orally or in writing, at least three working-days preceding the day of the election or the day of in-person early voting; and

(2) the employee is a registered voter.

(b)  The supervisor selects the days and hours when eligible employees may vote, and notifies each employee of the decision.

(1) Such time to vote is allowed on the day of the election or on a day when in-person early voting is allowed by law.

(2) Time off to vote is granted during the times the polls are open.

(3) If an employee is at such distance from the polling place that more than two hours are required in which to attend such elections, the employee is allowed a sufficient time in which to cast a ballot.

(c) Approval of time off to vote may be dependent upon the employee providing proof of voting.  When requested for verification purposes, proof is provided to the employee's supervisor not later than the employee's first working day after voting.

(d) An employee whose workday begins three hours or more after the opening of the polls, or whose workday ends three hours or more before the closing of the polls, is not granted time off to vote.  The supervisor may adjust office work schedules to allow such three hours before or after work.  Employees whose duty hours are changed in this manner are not given time off to vote.
