The ODMHSAS hosts up to four major conferences every year, including Children's Behavioral Health Conference, Zero Suicide Summit, Justice and Recovery Conference and Prevention and Recovery Conference. Providers, healthcare professionals, school staff, parents, etc etc etc are invited to learn from national keynote speakers and local leaders, including educational breakout sessions and networking opportunities. ODMHSAS conferences gives professionals around the state the opportunity to earn CEUs, connect with peers and develop both personal and professional skills and knowledge.
Zero Suicide a way to improve suicide care within health and behavioral health systems. The Zero Suicide Initiative in Oklahoma is a way to hear from national experts on this topic. Explore what is known so far about preventing suicide among persons in care, about how to make a real difference in your own behavioral health or primary care organization.
The 2022 Oklahoma Children’s Behavioral Health conference is a hybrid virtual and in-person gathering focused on the mental, emotional, social, physical and behavioral health of infants, youth, young adults and their families. The Children’s conference is hosted and sponsored by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and attracts over 800 behavioral health professionals, clinicians, therapists, counselors, educators, treatment service providers, administrators, juvenile justice, child welfare, child and youth serving community organizations, in addition to youth and families annually.
Prevention and Recovery Conference
The Prevention and Recovery Conference highlights several key tools for life that are critical to helping Oklahoma achieve its behavioral health goals. Reducing suicide rates, decreasing substance abuse, and lowering the prevalence of childhood obesity are all “Big Rocks" the ODMHSAS and its partner organizations are aiming to accomplish. This conference brings together local, state and national leaders to discuss best and promising practices in the areas of prevention, mental health and substance use disorder treatment, recovery and overall wellness to help us reach our collective goals. This event provides participants with practical tools they can utilize in their agencies and communities to help facilitate prevention, recovery and wellness programs.
Justice and Recovery Conference
The Justice & Recovery Conference will provide participants with knowledge of best practices and cutting-edge strategies in the intersection of criminal justice and behavioral health to continue to improve Oklahoma’s diversion network. State and national experts in their fields will present plenaries and more live and pre-recorded sessions with topics which target law enforcement, probation officers, treatment court team members, correctional officers, and clinicians.
