Expanded In-Person Services are Now Offered at Licensed Operators

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 18, 2024

OKLAHOMA CITY – Service Oklahoma announces multiple expanded in-person services at licensed operator locations throughout the state. Licensed operators, formerly tag agents, expanded services now include Out-of-State Transfers and issuances of first-time Driver Licenses.

New Oklahomans can visit their local licensed operator when they are needing to transfer to an Oklahoma Driver License or State ID from an out-of-state license. Eligible first-time customers who have completed their written and drive tests can visit their nearest licensed operator to receive their Learner Permit, Intermediate License, Class D Driver License or Commercial Driver License. As with all Oklahoma credentials, these licenses can be made REAL ID compliant at any licensed operator location.

“Expanding these specific services to our licensed operators is a huge benefit to Oklahomans,” said Jay Doyle, Chief Executive Officer of Service Oklahoma. “Licensed operators help increase our overall capacity and ensure citizens have access to essential services across the entire state.”

Service Oklahoma and licensed operator locations can be found in all 77 state counties making 95% of Oklahomans within 20-miles of a location.

To further boost efficiency, in the last year Service Oklahoma added an extra 70 driver license terminals to the busiest licensed operator locations which resulted in an increase in capacity across the state. This has made services more convenient and accessible than ever before with an 84% decrease in customer wait times at Service Oklahoma locations this year compared to the first quarter of 2023.

REAL ID Applications

Oklahomans should also remember the federal deadline to apply for a REAL ID is May 7, 2025. After this date a REAL ID is needed for travelers to be able to board domestic flights, visit military bases or specific federal buildings and enter nuclear power plants. Oklahomans can visit their favorite licensed operator, formerly tag agent, or a Service Oklahoma Licensing and Exam location when they are ready to officially apply for their REAL ID.

Service Oklahoma encourages citizens to go online to find the nearest licensed operator locations by visiting service.ok.gov/locations.
