Vanessa Heird began her career with the state in April 2013, previously with Oklahoma Human Services before coming to Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics taking on the role of Executive Assistant to Executive Director Ardies. Pryor to OKDHS, Vanessa worked at Kimray Inc., as a Machinist.

Vanessa holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. She also volunteers for Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma as Service Unit Event & Fundraising Coordinator and as a co-troop leader in her community for many years.
